What We Collect

  • LinkedIn profile data — name, headline, photo URL, and email (via OAuth sign-in)
  • Profile data you provide— hobbies, side projects, what you're looking for at events
  • Luma guest list data — names, bios, and social handles of event attendees (captured via Chrome extension)
  • Enrichment data — professional context from third-party providers to improve match quality
  • Usage data — match feedback and scan history to improve suggestions

How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to match you with interesting people at events. We generate knowledge graphs, embeddings, and AI-powered "why connect" explanations to surface meaningful connections.

How We Store Your Data

Data is stored in PostgreSQL on Railway with encrypted connections (SSL required). Session tokens are signed JWTs stored in httpOnly cookies. Redis is used for caching and job queues with data expiring automatically.

Third-Party Services

  • Enrichment providers (Bright Data, Exa, Serper, Firecrawl) — receive names and LinkedIn handles to look up professional context
  • LLM providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) — receive anonymized profile summaries to generate match explanations
  • PostHog — anonymous product analytics (when enabled)

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising purposes.

Data Retention

Guest profile data is retained for 90 days after event scans. Your account data is retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your profile settings.

  • Access — view all data we hold about you via your profile page
  • Deletion — delete your account and all associated data from profile settings
  • Portability — request an export of your data by contacting us
  • Correction — update your profile information at any time

We use essential cookies only: a session cookie (overlaps_session) for authentication. Analytics cookies (PostHog) are only set with your consent.
